we have only one record of this word, in the collection from arrito/Snell. This is an important source because it was recorded well before the mission period, but it has several errors, so the word may not be quite correct.

The word Minlaton (with the English suffix ton town) probably came from this.- Cockburn (in Whats in a name?) claims that minla by itself means fresh or sweet. This does not match the words in Nharangga sources. It could be a description of the well water, rather than the literal meaning of the word.
